Apply to be a surrogate by completing our online application. Once completed, our intake coordinator and 1x surrogate will contact you to tell you more about our program in detail.

Qualification & Prescreening


Surrogates candidates are carefully prescreened per our in-house agency requirements, which include a profile, previous birth records, OB clearance, psychological evaluation and a background check.

Your health is our primary concern. To make your journey with us as positive as possible please make sure you meet the criteria below.

U.S. Citizen

Age 21 - 38

BMI below 33

At least 1 healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy

No drinking, smoking and drug consumption

Physically and psychologically healthy

Strong support system of family and friends

Not receiving government financial assistance

Reliable transportation for appointments

San Diego Surrogacy Center is able to accept surrogates from the following States:

How much do I get paid as a surrogate?

The average base pay for surrogacy is $50,000 for first-time surrogates + $30,000 expenses and benefits.

Can I be a surrogate after tubal litigation?

You can become a surrogate after tubal ligation, because your ability to carry a pregnancy is not impacted.

Will I be required to travel?

You will never be matched with a family that would require you to travel unless you agree ahead of time that you are willing to travel.

Will I receive additional compensation if I am pregnant with multiples?

Absolutely! Your monthly base compensation is increased to reflect this additional fee for as long as you are pregnant with the additional fetus.
